It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that we heard of the death of Fr Aidan. Whilst we were aware that he was very ill, the reality of his death takes a while to sink in.
An Omagh man he was ordained a Priest in 1976. For the first two years of his priestly life he served in this parish. From here he moved to the staff of St Columb’s and then back here as curate for a year before being appointed as Parish Priest.
We mourn his loss as a man and priest of outstanding integrity who lived the Gospel values each day with faith, compassion and love. He leaves behind a strong legacy of Christianity in action and a deep-seated belief in the power of prayer. May he rest in peace.
The 7:30p evening Mass on Monday evening 13th will be offered for the repose of his soul and give parishioners an opportunity as a community to remember him in prayer
