Focus of the 2026 Appeal

The 2026 Trócaire Box Appeal has officially launched for this Lent. It carries the theme “It’s not just a box — it’s a lifeline.” The campaign focuses on stories of real families, such as a family in Rwanda facing repeated climate-related shocks like severe storms that destroy homes and threaten safety and livelihoods.

The appeal highlights how small donations collected in parish Trócaire boxes help provide basic essentials — food, shelter, education, and security — to families and communities in need.

Where the Funds Are Directed

This year, the campaign is particularly emphasizing support for women, children, and families in Rwanda who are dealing with extreme weather events, poverty and climate impacts. Trócaire’s work helps families rebuild homes, improve resilience and access education and safety.
